In the painting, we see a woman surrounded by several birds of prey, such as falcons. The birds appear as if they are part of her abaya or wings, creating a sense of strength and protection. The background is blue, and the calm expression on her face stands out amid the powerful presence of the birds.

Artist Biography

is a Qatari visual artist working within a contemporary realist practice influenced by romantic traditions. From an early age, her work has been driven by a deep personal connection to art as a means of emotional and philosophical exploration. Primarily working with oil paint, acrylic, and modeling paste, Al Ahbabi’s practice is rooted in personal narratives, lived experiences, and intimate observations drawn from everyday life, music, and memory. Her creative process begins with visual research and intuitive collection, followed by careful consideration of mood, color palette, and composition before moving into sketching and execution. She has exhibited her work in Qatar, including a notable presentation at the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum, and has received academic recognition during her university studies. Currently focused on refining her technique and expanding her anatomical and material understanding, Al Ahbabi approaches her practice as an evolving journey, positioning art as a space where emotion, poetry, and philosophy converge.
